How did we get here? I am constantly asking myself that question. So, what I did, was look for statements by this country's elected leaders. I took the ones who are always in the news, as many people may not recognize the more obscure names. There are, and always have been elected leaders who make, well, not-so-bright statements. But I think I finally figured out why this country's most financially broken state, California, is where it is. Following, are a couple of quotes from California Democrats, the ruling party in California, that for some unknown reason continue to get re-elected by the people: " Every week we don't pass the Stimulus Package, 500 million Americans lose their jobs." (Nancy Pelosi) Or, how about this one from Nancy Pelosi? " First, Bush cut taxes for the rich and the economy rebounded with new record low unemployment rates, which only means wealthy employers are getting even wealthier at the expense of the underpaid working class." (And for 7 out of 8 years under Bush, our enconomy prospered.)
Check out these statements from another California Senator: "Those who survived the San Francisco earthquake said " Thank God I'm still alive. But, of course those who died, their lives will never be the same."(Barbara Boxer). Here's another of Ms. Boxers remarks: "I will fight to keep guns out of the hands of criminals, and out of the hands of parents." HUH??!! This Barbara Boxer quote is good too: " It's a new day, Communism is dead, it's even dead in Cuba, I hate to say it, it's dead."
Had enough? Not yet? How about this guy, Rep. Pete Stark: " The borders are quite secure, thank you." Or, " The more illegals that get in, the more secure you are, think about it, think about it!" One last one from Diane Feinstein: "Banning guns addresses a fundamental right of all Americans to feel safe." (It's a known fact that Diane Feinstein has a concealed weapons permit, and carries. It's okay for her, but not the rest of America!!!)
I don't want to make it sound like I'm picking totally on the state of California for their total lack of discernment, especially when it comes to selecting, and electing their leaders. So here's a real shot in the arm for Democrats. I tell you, intelligence seems to abound in this party. Senator Hank Johnson speaking to Admiral Robert Willard regarding the transfer of 25,000 Marines and their families to the island of Guam. Are you ready? You can't make this stuff up, it's really a priceless piece of wit: " My fear is that the whole island will become so overly populated that it will turn over and capsize." Now this is a Senator, who obviously has the education of a 3rd grader, who is still under the impression that islands just float on the surface of the ocean, and some magical anchor holds them in place. And, he is expecting an answer from an Admiral. How Admiral Willard kept a straight face after that question escapes me. I think I would have been rolling on the floor with uncontrollable laughter. Who elected this guy? We The People of Georgia did!!!
Okay, here is my point. When we are inundated with all these candidates, who are anxious to represent the people, we the people really need to spend some time vetting them, prior to election day. We have to remember, the rest of the world will judge us by the representatives we send to Washington, D.C. as our chosen representatives. It is because of people like these who are elected to Democratic offices that the Democrat Party has been hijacked by the Progressives. I honestly think that many of the representatives mentioned here, do not realize what they are saying, and subsequently don't realize that they have been hijacked by the likes of people like Barack Obama. There are probably no Democrats that read my Blog, so do us all a favor, if you know a Democrat, or liberal, let them in on the fact that their party is no longer the Democrat Party of old. It is new, it is the Progressive Party, and they need to vet their candidates. We conservatives need to pay close attention too. The Republican Party is not lacking in its share of Progressives either. It is imperative that we conservatives are not fooled by Progressive's in Conservative's clothing, for example: John McCain, and Lindsey Graham. The Republican party has their share of ignoramuses too, make no mistake.
This November, it is important that the idiots, and bums get dumped out on their ears, and I mean from both parties. If at all possible, I will not vote for an incumbent that has more than two terms under his or her belt, unless I am 100% absolutely satisfied that they represent my conservative, and Christian values, and principles.
What ever you do, VOTE, VOTE, VOTE this November. Our freedom, and liberty may be lost forever, if conservatives do not get the majority in the House and Senate.
